There is huge potential for expansion in both Sihanoukville and the coastal islands due to the opening of the new international airport in Sihanoukville. AirAsia has opened their route Kuala Lumpur-Sihanoukville direct, Bangkok Airlines fly from Bangkok, Vietnam Airlines from Ho Chi Min and many airlines fly in and out from China direct. There has been great progress in the general infrastructure as well as a lot of new and major investments such as casinos and large condominiums all along the coast line. Cambodia is in the stage of major tourist development, and it is reasonable to assume that within the next 2 to 3 years we will be giving neighboring Thailand “a good run for their money”.
